  1. Hi Jesse,
You must be getting fed up with me today.
I noticed the copy of "Speed and How To Obtain It" in the fascinating collection of Harley bits (is that an NOS HD spider?).
From the early 1900s to the 60s there were 2 competing weekly motorcycle magazines in the UK: "Motorcycling" known as The Green 'un, and "The Motorcycle" - The Blue 'un. The Green 'un produced "Speed and How To Obtain It" through many editions from 1925ish to around 1965. Early editions especially had beautiful line drawings as was the style in those days.
Not to be outdone, the Blue 'un came up with "Tuning for Speed" and "Motorcycle Engineering", written by the great engineer Phil Irving (Velocette, Vincent, Repco Brabham) who penned a weekly column for them. You can download "Tuning for Speed" as a pdf. (http://tuningforspeed.com/).
    I'll go away now.
    Regards,
    Tony
